<br />1407 <br /> <br />The sampling survey was conducted by: <br /> <br />Brad Austin, Ground Water Geologist and Program Manager <br />John Colbert, Physical Sciences Tech <br /> <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br /> <br />FIELD OPERATIONS <br /> <br />SCHEDULING <br /> <br />All wells were scheduled for sampling by WQCD personnel between June and November, <br />1994, The exact dates for sampling were subject to laboratory schedules, sample holding times, <br />well owner availability, and travel times, <br /> <br />SAMPLE WELL SELECTION <br /> <br />The rationale used in selecting wells for this monitoring project are listed below, <br /> <br />1, Low flow, shallow depth wells are prefered, generally domestic use; <br />2, Completed within the unconfined alluvial aquifer of the Arkansas Valley; <br />3, Located within the irrigated agricultural area of the valley; <br />4, Depth to ground water less than 50 feet, generally less than 25 feet; <br />5, Well currently in use or at least has a working pump installed; <br />6, Direction of ground water flow; <br />7, WelIhead and casing in good physical condition and availability of completion <br />infonnation documentation; <br />8, WelIhead area free of point sources of contamination; <br />9, Well owner consent to participate in the monitoring program; <br /> <br />The ground water contaminants that may be encountered in the area include nitrates, high <br />levels of total dissolved solids, dissolved metals, and pesticides, <br /> <br />KEY PERSClNNEL <br /> <br />SITE ACCESS AND LOGISTICS <br /> <br />Access to the sampling sites and scheduling with land owners will be the responsibility of <br />the field personnel. Consent for access to the property and for sampling the well will have been <br />received prior to site entry, <br />
