The draft environmental statement on the Colorado River International
salinity control. Project describes both the beneficia.l. and adverse
environmental e:f1'ects of works designed to improve the quality of water
delivered to Mexico under the Mexican Water Treaty.

The key feature is a desalting plant at Yuma destined to be. the
world's largest. The plant will lower the salt content of draillage Water
:f'r0lll the Gila Project's Wellton-Mohawk Division for blending with Colorado
River water delivered to Mexico.
