Table I. Summary oftotal hours of removal effort for both methods employed. Shocking
hours are equal to actual hours of shocking time. Fyke net hours are equal to the total set-
time for all nets in each section.
Section Method Trip 0 Trip 1 Trip 2 Trip 3 Trip 4 TripS
1 Shock 0.00 0.00 2.75 3.50 3.20 2.75
Fyke net 144.25 541.5 292.25 261.25 286.0 263.75
2 Shock 0.00 0.00 2.75 3.25 3.00 2.25
Fyke net 0.00 240.25 262.25 253.5 268.5 259.0
3 Shock 0.00 0.00 2.20 1.50 1.50 2.50
Fyke net 0.00 188.5 266.0 304.75 249.5 0.00
4 Shock 0.00 0.00 3.00 2.25 3.00 0.00
Fyke net 0.00 245.5 249.75 135.5 236.5 0.00
5 Shock 0.00 0.00 1.75 0.00 1.25 0.00
Fyke net 0.00 246.0 233.0 300.0 248.0 0.00

Quantities and weights were recorded for all fish species captured. Lengths and weights
were recorded monthly for at least 25 of each nonnative target species, channel catfish
(cc), smallmouth bass (smb), green sunfish, black crappie, and bluegill, for length to
weight relationships. All remaining nonnatives were counted and weighed by species.
Total numbers and weights for catfish, small mouth bass, and carp (cp) were divided into
three size classes: Smail (0-199 mm), medium (200-299 mm), and large (;,300 mm).
Nonnatives were then buried on banks away from human access. Other information
collected included river habitats, relative flows, turbidity, and hours of effort for catch per
unit effort calculations. In addition, floy tags were used to mark 50 catfish, 2S
smallmouth bass, and II carp to examine capture efficiency rates. All native fish
captured were identified, weighed, measured, scanned for tags or marks, and released.

Removal data for all nonnative fish is summarized in table 2. Information for all native
fish species captured is listed in table 3.

Table 2. Total number and weight for all nonnatives removed by fyke net and electroshocking
during the entire removal period (Aug.6-0ct. 16).
