III. Project Summary:

The project consists of constructing a fish passage facility at the
Hartland Diversion Dam located on the Gunnison River upstream of the
Town of Delta. The original plan called for initiating
preconstruction activities in FY 1997 leading to a construction
start in FY 199B. However. because of the limited success of the
Redlands Fish Passage Facility in FY 1996. preconstruction
activities were delayed pending confirmation of fish use of the
Redlands Fish Passage Facility during the summer of 1997.The success
of the Redlands Fish Passage Facility was subsequently demonstrated
by the level of native fish use in August and September of 1997. No
funding was programed for preconstruction activities in FY 1998.

IV. Study Schedule:

Unknown at this time pending results of the GVIC Fish Passage
Facility and capital project fund availability.

Restore fish passage at Hartland. Task No. II.B.2

VI. Accomplishment of FY 97 Tasks and Deliverables, Discussion of
Initial Findings and Shortcomings:

FY 1997 tasks delayed pending confirmation of Redlands Fish Passage
Facility success.
