Proiect Title: Fish Passage at the Grand Valley Irrigation Company Diversion Dam. <br /> <br />II. Principallnvestigator(s): Bob Norman & Mike Baker, Bureau of Reclamation <br /> <br />III. Proiect Summary: The goal of this project is to provide fish passage at the Grand <br />Valley Irrigation Company Diversion Dam. In low flow conditions the Grand Valley <br />Irrigation Company Diversion is a barrier to fish movement up the Colorado River. <br />Construction of the passage began in November 1997 and is scheduled to be <br />completed by April 1998. <br /> <br />IV. Discussion ofInitial Findings and <br />Shortcominl!s: <br /> <br />- February 19 - selected conceptual plan from alternatives investigated by Flo <br />Engineering. <br />- May 30 - completed physical model study to assist with design of the proposed <br />fish passage <br />- August 14 - obtained all necessary easements from adjacent landowners <br />- August 21 - environmental assessment finalized and Finding of No Significant <br />Impact signed <br />- September 3 - executed cooperative agreement for construction of the fish <br />passage by the Grand Valley Irrigation Company <br />- September 15 - all necessary permits obtained (Section 404 and 402 of CWA) <br />- October 31 - executed operation and maintenance agreement with Grand Valley <br />Irrigation Company <br />- November 3 - Grand Valley Irrigation Company started construction of fish passage <br /> <br />1 <br />
