<br />OOZUl <br /> <br />.., <br /> <br />Uncompahgre Project - Gunnison Diversion Dam and Tunnel.-- <br />The Gunnison Diversion Dam is located on the Gunnison River in <br />tIle SW~ sec. 10, T. 49 N., R. 7101'., N.M.P.M., Colorado, about <br />a quarter of a mile upstream f=om the Black Canyon of the <br />Gunnison National Monument. It di verts releases from Taylor <br />Park Dam into the Gunni~o~ T\L~~~1, which has a capacity of <br />1,000 cfs. It extends southwesterly 5.8 miles to the <br />Uncompahgre River drainage basin. Construction was completed <br />in January 1912, by the then Reclamation Service. <br /> <br />Uncompahgre Project - Taylor Park Dam and Reservoir.-- <br />Taylor Park Dam is located on the Taylor River at the upper <br />end of a canyon, about 20 miles upstream from the mouth, The <br />dam is an earthfill structure with a structural height of 206 <br />feet, hydraulic height of 153 feet, and crest length of 675 <br />feet. The capacity of the reservoir is 106,200 acre-feet and <br />the area ia 2,040 acres at the maximum normal water surface <br />elevation of 9,330 feet. Construction of the dam was completed <br />in 1937 by the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />In 1932, the operation and maintenance of the Uncompahgre <br />Project was traneferred to the Uncompahgre Valley Water Users <br />Association. <br /> <br />Bostwick Park Project.--This project was authorized as a <br />participating project with the Upper ColoradO River Storage <br />Project by Public Law 88-568, September 2, 1964, (78 Stat.852), <br />and is now under construction. Unused flows of Cimarron Creek, <br />a tributary of the Gunnison River, will be developed for irri- <br />gation, recreation, &,,1 sport fishery enhancement. Storage <br />regulation will be provided by the Silver Jack Reservoir to be <br />constructed on Cimarron Creek. Released storage vater and <br />usa'ble natural flows will be diverted from the creek into the <br />exieting Cimarron Canal, which has its point of diversion in <br />the SEt sec. 5, T. 46 N., R. 6101'., N.M.P.M., Colorado, about <br />2.5 miles downstream from the site of the Silver Jack Dam, The <br />project will provide 11,100 acre-feet of vater annually for <br />the irrigation of 6,110 acres of land, located mostly in <br />Bostwick Park, T. 49N., andT. 50N., R. 8101'., N.M.P.M., <br />Colorado, adjacent to and higher than those of the Uncompahgre <br />Project completed in 1908. <br /> <br />.7 <br /> <br />13 <br />
