Meeting--Staff Response to Board's September Directive

Introduction

At its September meeting, the Board directed the staff to:

(1) Examine the potential for reformulating dnd

(4) Recommend a program to provlde fundlng for the repair
and rehabllltation of projects whlch have dam safety problems;
and

(5) Revlew existlng state financing mechanisms and the
constraints thereon, particularly insofar as grants are
concerned.

Agenda itmes 7, 8, and lOb constitute the staff's initial
response to this directive. In addition, agenda item 7 covers
the proposed projects which hdve come through the regular
procedures of the construction fund program.

Summary

The staff's initial response to the Board's directive may be
summarized as follows:

(1) After consuiting with the Colorado River Wdter
Conservation District and the West Divide Water Conservancy
District about the West Divide project, it was concluded that the
