<br />TOWAOC LATERALS <br /> <br />Five pipe lateral systems with a total length of about 20 miles will be <br />constructed to deliver water from the Towaoc Canal under gravity pressure to <br />the full-service lands on the Ute Mountain Ute Reservation. Project drainage <br />facilities will be provided where necessary. <br /> <br />MCPHEE DAM POWERPLANT <br /> <br />The McPhee Dam Powerplant will consist of a penstock from the outlet works of <br />the dam connected to two turbines which will power a 1300 kilowatt generator, <br />The turbines, generator, and appurtenant equipment will be installed in a <br />pre-engineered metal building at the base of the dam. It will produce an <br />average of 7,170,000 kilowatt-hours annually. <br /> <br />MCPHEE ACCESS ROADS <br /> <br />To alleviate access problems caused by the inundation of county roads through <br />McPhee Reservoir, several county and Forest Service roads have been or will <br />be improved. The Dolores-Norwood Road will be reconstructed and paved from <br />Highway 145 in Dolores, Colorado to the House Creek Road. It will be widened <br />and graveled from House Creek Road to the Glade Road. Glade Road has been <br />reconstructed and graveled from the Dolores-Norwood Road to Ormiston Point <br />Road. Lone Dome Road. from Bradfield Bridge to McPhee Dam, and Ormiston <br />Point Road, from Lone Dome Road to the Glade Road, bave also been <br />reconstructed and graveled. Williams Draw Road, from Bradfield Bridge to <br />County Road 16, will be improved and graveled to provide a complete circuit <br />of all-weather roads around McPhee Reservoir. <br /> <br />4 <br />
