<br />BOSTWICK PA~K PARTICIPATING PROJECT, COLORADO
<br />
<br />. .
<br />This multipurpose project is located in west-central Colqrado in
<br />Gunnison and Montrose Counties near the city of Mon~rose. The
<br />project will provide a full water supply to 1,610 acres. Existing
<br />laterals will provide. ~ supplemental supply, to 4,500 acres. The
<br />project will also provide benefits to fish, wildlife,and recreation.
<br />An $859,000 repayment contract betwee.nthe Bureau of Reclama-
<br />tion and the Bostwick Park Water Conservancy District was executed
<br />on March 18, 1966, and validated on May 3, 1966. The definite
<br />plan report was approved by the Commissioner on March 1, 1966.
<br />Storage regulation of flows of Cimarron Creek will be provided by
<br />the Silver Jack Dam, principal feature of the project. Released stor-
<br />age 'water and usable :natmal flows will be diverted from Cimarr.on
<br />Creek into the existing Cirnarron Canal and conveyed 23 miles to the
<br />vicinity of the project lands where distribution will be made through
<br />existing ditches. Two laterals will be constructed .to,conyey water t<i>
<br />lands above those presimtly irrigated. '. '
<br />Preconstruction work included the awarding of a contract for the
<br />exploration of a borrow area to be used in the construction .of -Silver
<br />Jack Dam. The actual award of contract to construct the dam is
<br />expected to be announced early. in fiscal year 1967. When com-
<br />pleted, the Silver Jack Dam will have an earthfill embankment to
<br />rise'138 feet above the stream bed with a crest length of 1,070 feet.
<br />Its reservoir will have'a total capacity of 13,520 acre-feet.

<br />CENTRAL UTAH PARTICIPATING' PROJECT, .-~ONNEVILLE UN!:, UTAH

<br />The Bonneville unit is a part of the initial phase of the central .
<br />Utah project. It is looatedin central Utah in the ,eastern part of the
<br />Bonneville Basin and in th~ western part ofUiIita Basin in Dint.ah,
<br />Duchesne, Wasatch, SummIt, Utah, Salt Lake,and Juab,Cbuntles,
<br />Utah. The unit is multipurpose in scope. It will provide a full
<br />water supply for. the irrigation of 43,740 acres.of additional land, a
<br />supplemental water supply to 112,790 acres of partically irrigated
<br />lands, 79;000 acre-feet of water annually for municipal use, and 133,500
<br />kilowatts of installed cdpacity for the generation of power, to be used
<br />for u.'rigation pumping and for commercial sale,' Benefits to fish and
<br />wildlife,recreation, and flood control will also be provided. ,]
<br />Work accomplishment during fiscal year 1966 consisted mainly f@j'
<br />construction on the Duchesne government community. 'Thestrelfti;
<br />were roughed out and excavation for much of the sewer and water
<br />lines was completed. As of June 30, 1966, about 61 percent of plll'Jo~
