The Chico Basin Ranch Management <br /> <br />) <br />! <br /> <br />Co, will take over management of the property March 1. <br /> <br /> <br />The principals in the management company are ~ Fillmore, Boone, Colorado; Jerry <br /> <br /> <br />Sullivan, Ordway, Colorado; and Dr. Sandy McCulloch, Colorado Springs. All three men <br /> <br />~ <br /> <br />currently have ranching interests in the immediate vicinity of the Chico Basin property. The <br />company was chosen from among six finalists as the result of a Request for Proposal (RFP) <br />process that involved review of 16 proposals and interviews with six final candidates, <br />All proposals were evaluated against five goals, which were listed in the RFP: <br />. an annual cash return to the Land Board's trust beneficiaries of 4 percent of the <br />ranch's appraised value ($5,042,000) from agricultural activities on the land; <br />. excellent stewardship that will result in a biologically diverse ecosystem and <br /> <br />sustainable agriculture, as well as other natural resource programs on the ranch; <br /> <br />. ideas for educational use of the property to demonstrate stewardship techniques and <br /> <br />values and land practices on the high-plains grasslands, riparian areas and wetlands found <br /> <br />within the ranch's boundaries; <br /> <br />. involvement of diverse interests and opportunities for revenue-generating activities <br /> <br />other than livestock production; and <br />
