The sections are <br /> <br />numbered sequentially in the manner shown on figure 2B. The third number of <br /> <br />the well location designates the section. <br /> <br />The section, which contains 640 acres (259.0 ha), is subdivided into <br /> <br />quarter sections. The 160-acre (64.8-ha) area is designated by the first <br /> <br />letter following the section: A indicates the northeast quarter, B the <br /> <br />northwest, C the southwest, and D the southeast. The quarter section is <br /> <br />subdivided into quarter-quarter sections. The 40-acre (16.2-ha) area is <br /> <br />designated in the same manner by the second letter following the section. <br /> <br />The quarter-quarter section is subdivided into quarter-quarter-quarter <br /> <br />sections.
