Some of this increased recreational use will probably <br />also be extended to national forest lands. However, this increased use is <br />not expected to be heavy and costs of preparing or extending recreational <br />area plans will not be significant. <br /> <br />There will be no conflicts with forest areas such as wilderness, research, <br />or other special areas. <br /> <br />Losses or Benefits to Resource Values <br /> <br />The project will have no effects on forest resource volumes Gr values. <br /> <br />Impacts en Nonfederal Forest and Forest-Range Lands <br /> <br />eonstruction and operation of this project will have no significant effect <br />upon nonfederal forest and forest-range lands. Flooding of the privately <br />owned ranch lands will not affect any grazing permits or grazing use of <br />national forest lands. The forest4lased econny will not be affected. <br />Recreational use, including boating and picnicking, will occur on and <br />around the reservoir and will contribute to the local econ~. <br /> <br />Summary and Findi ngs <br /> <br />1. The proposed Rifle Gap Dam, Reservoir, Canals, and Ditches are outside <br />the boundary of the Whi te Ri vet' NaU onal Forest. <br /> <br />2. As far as can be foreseen at this time, the project will not impair <br />or affect any existing facility or service on national forest lands. <br /> <br />3. There will be no appreciable losses or gains in resource values now <br />provided by forest and forest-range lands of national forest or non- <br />federal ownerships. <br /> <br />- h8 - <br />
