A contract between the
Northern Colorado Water Conservancy District and the United
States Government, providing for the operation and maintenance
of project features and repayment of $25,000,000 of the con-
struction costs by the Conservancy District, was executed on
Juq 5, 1938. A supplemental contract, exe,cuted on Juq 14,
1950, between the Northern Colorado Water Conservancy District
and the United States Government provided for a change in the
method of supplying water to the lands under the North Poudre
Canal and added $889,000 to' the repayment obligation of the
District, raising the total maximum obligation to $25,889,000.
During the construction period, such amounts of water as become
available are sold under an interim contract which was executed
'December 15, 1950. Revenues to the United States from operation
under this contract are expected to amount to approximately
$3,000,000. The interim contract will remain in effect until
notice is given of the availability of water under the 1938
contract, at which time operation of the project under the 1938
contract will commence.
