.

i3~)0

September to optimize the downstream fishery. These flows will be
maintained under nonnal oondi tions. If oondi tions warrant, the outflow
during' these IlOnths may be adjusted to oonserve water.

If water is sold to entities downstream, the outflow fran the reservoir
will be adjusted to the situation at the tine of delivery and will be
included in the overall operation.

Table 4 and Exhibit 7 show the anticipated operation of Ruedi Reservoir
during water year 1981.

C. Western Slope Cbllection System

In 1981, there will be 16 diversion mints on Western Slope Cbllection
System in operation. Cbnstruction of Granite creek Syphon has been
carpleted, and water will be diverted from Granite Creek Diversion for
the first tiIre this year.

This year ~ have the capability to exchange a max.irm.m1 of 3,000 acre-
feet of water with the '!Win Lakes Reservoir and Canal CaTpany. The
water is to be delivered to the o:xrpany at '!Win Lakes in exchange, for
the o:xrpany making equivalent releases fran the headwaters of the ROaring
Fbrk River which -.ould otheIWi.se be diverted through such Twin Lakes
Reservoir and Canal CDrrpany oollection and diversion system. If the
exchange is inplE!11e11ted, it will essentially be operated in accordance
with principle II of the Operating Principles for the Fryingpan-Arkansas
Project with only minor rrcdifications to optimize the use of the water
for enhancement of the fishery of the Ibaring Fbrk River.

.

D.

Turquoise Lake

1. Inflow

Inflow to Turquoise I,ake for water year 1981 will be fran four sources:
Busk-Ivanhoe inports, Fryingpan-Arkansas Project imports, Hcmestake
Tunnel inports, and native flow of Lake Fbrk creek. Estimates of inflow
from Busk-Ivanhoe and natiVe Lake Fork Creek ~re rrade using historical
records and probability analysis. K::mestake Project plans to inport
22,000 acre-feet of water I'PW stored in Hanestake Reservoir.

2 . Minirm..un Release
The minimun release is 15 ft3/s, or natural inflow, whichever is less.

3. Reservoir Operation

Planned operation of TurgtPise Lake for water year 1981 was made assum-
ing ideal conditions and CCllplying with as many requests by involved .
entities as possible. It is recognized that in actual operation, cir~
stances may require sorre variation fran the plan.

Native inflow to Lake Fork creek and Busk-Ivanh:le inports ~re estimated
fram historic records.

.

7
