<br />, <br /> <br />!NIl <br />~ <br />~ <br />C>> <br /> <br />PROTEST PROCEDURES <br /> <br /> <br />The resource management planning process found in 43CFR161 0.5-2 provides for an administrative <br />review to the BLM Director if you believe that approval of the proposed amendments to the <br />resource management plans would be in error, and you would be adversely affected by approval .of <br />the amendment. <br /> <br />Only those persons or organizations who participated in the plan amendment/environment~1 <br />ass!lssment process leading to this proposed deCision may protest; If ol,lr records do not indicate <br />that you had al)y.lnvolvement in the preparation of the proposed decision, your protest maybe <br />dismiss.ed wi.thout further review. <br /> <br /> <br />Protesting parties may raise only those issues which they submitted for the record during the <br />planning process.' New issues. should be directed to the appropriate resource area mahag.er for. <br />consideration during implementation, as a potential plan amendment, or a.s otherwise appropriate. <br /> <br />If you file a protest, your protest must be postmarked no later than December 13, 1996. AlthOugh <br />not a requirement, we suggest that you send your protest by certiffed mail, return receipt <br />requested. <br /> <br />Protests must be in writing to: Director (480) <br />Bureau of Land Management <br />Resource Planning Team <br />1849 "e" Street <br />Washington, D.C. 20240 <br /> <br /> <br />Your protest must contain the following information: <br /> <br />.1. The name, mailing address, te.lephone number, and interest of the person filing the protest. <br /> <br />2. A statement of the issue or issues being raised. <br /> <br />3. A. sta.tement of th~ part or parts of the amendment being protes.ted. To the. extent p.ossible, <br />provide reference ,to specific pages, paragraphs, sections, tables, maps.- etc. <br /> <br />4. A copy of all doquments addressing the issue or issues that you submitted during the plan <br />amendment process, or reference the date the issue or issues were discussed by. you for the record. <br /> <br />5. A concise statement explaining why the proposed decision is believed to be incorrect. This is 8 <br />criticsl part of YOl)r p~otest. Take care to document all relevant facts.
