<br />22 <br /> <br /> <br />001931 <br /> <br />STATEMENT OF FUNCTIONS AND OBJECTIVES, PROCEDURES, AND <br />PROGRAM OF THE WATER QUALITY TECHNICAL SUBCOMMITTEE <br /> <br />FUNCTIONS AND OBJECTIVES <br /> <br />1. The objectives and functions of the Water Qual ity Technical Subcommittee <br />are to promote an understanding of the Paci fic Southwest region as an <br />entity with certain characteristics which affect water qual ity activiti es by: <br /> <br />A. Developing, exchanging, and disseminating technical and <br />administrative information on water qual ity, incl uding promotion <br />of the adoption of uniform terminology. <br /> <br />B. Promoting coordination of water qual ity activities. <br /> <br />C. Enhancing public awareness of water quality problems <br />and progress in the region, <br /> <br />PROCEDURES <br /> <br />1, The Water Q'Jality Technical Subcommittee shall meet not less than four <br />tim es yearly, Meetings, when appropriate, will be scheduled immediately <br />preceding the meeting of the parent committee of PSIAC. At least one <br />meeting each year shal I be at the same place as the parent committee <br />meeting. The del iberations of the subcommittee will be recorded in minutes <br />and reported to the PSIAC. <br /> <br />2. The el ection of a new chairman (not in agency rotation) shal I occur at the <br />third meeting in each calendar year, together with a secretary from the <br />same geographic area. <br /> <br />3. The last meeting of each cal endar year shall incl ude: <br /> <br />A. Review by retiring chairman of accomplishments during the year. <br /> <br />B. Presentation by new chairman of an outline of a program for the <br />ensuing year. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />4. Task force groups will be designated by the chairman as required to <br />accomplish specific missions as charged by the subcommittee, <br /> <br />5. The chairman shall provide PSIAC with a brief annual report describing <br />activities and accomplishments of the subcommittee not later than June 1st <br />of each year. This report will be on a fiscal year basis for inclusion in the <br />annual report of PS lAC. <br />
