Sta- <br />tion service is taken at 6900 volts from units No, 2 and No.3 <br />through a 750-kva bank, supplying station power at 460 volts, and <br />a 200-kva bank supplying station lighting, <br />'The 69,000-volt connection to the Gene pumping plant is used <br />to parallel Parker power plaut with Boulder power plant through <br />the District's 230,OOO-volt system, in order to effect interchange of <br />power between Boulder and Parker power plants, and to supply <br />power required by Basic Magnesium, Incorporated, and other cus- <br />tomers of the United States connected to the District's system, <br />This connection which is owned by the District will later be used <br />for supplying Parker power to the District's pumping system. . <br />Provision is made in the 161,OOO-volt switch rack for additional I <br />lines to Phoenix and to the Gila pumping project, and for a con- ~ <br />nection to the proposed Davis Dam power plant above Needles. <br />The legal title to the entire Parker power plant as well as the <br />dam is in the name of the United States, but the District is entitled <br />to the exclusive use and benefit of units No, 3 and No.4. Under <br />the supplemental contract of July 19, 1942, the United States <br />retaius the use of these units for a period of ten years or more, <br />duriug which time the District is to receive credits toward the <br />amortization of its portiou of the cost of the plant at the rate of <br />$475,00 per day for each unit. <br />Generating uuits No, 1 and No.3 were operated in parallel with <br />the District'~ system for the first time November 22 and were <br />placed in regular operation December 13, 1942, Unit No, 2 was <br />placed in regular operation .January 1. 1943, and unit No, 4 on <br />May 26, 1943, The Parker plant was operated in parallel with <br />the District's system when needed to supply power demands in <br />excess of the capability of the units available to the District at <br />Boulder, arid at such other times as power was available at Parker <br />in excess of the demands of the Parker system, <br />When the first two units were placed in operation on December <br />13, 1942, the sale of District unused Boulder energy to the Salt <br />River Valley Water Users' Association and the Central Arizona <br />Light and Power Company was discontinued, <br />Progress was made in dredging the river channel below Parker <br />Dam to increase the head and power output of the Parker power <br />plant. The maximum output of the plant, now approximately <br />100,000 kw, will be increased slightly by further dredging of the <br />rh-er bed below the plant. <br />
