<br />021.40 ' <br />PROPOSED ROXBOROUGH FILTER PLANT (Altitude 5,800 feet) <br /> <br />Location: - 9 miles South and 3 miles West of Littleton. <br /> <br />Built: - Proposed 1st unit 1959, 60, 61. 2nd unit 1968-1969. <br /> <br />Cost: ~ Estimated for 1st unit - $5,900,000. <br /> <br />Function: - To filter South Platte and Blue River water diverted by new intake <br /> <br />to be built near Strontia Springs on the South Platte River below the <br /> <br />proposed Two Forks Dam. This filtered water to be carried through <br /> <br />a conduit to the proposed Hillcrest Reservoir to be located southwest <br /> <br />of Denver. Water from this proposed reservoir to supply the high <br /> <br />elevation areas in the metropolitan development to the south and east. <br /> <br />Capacity: - 1st unit 100 million gallons daily, ultimate capacity 400 million <br /> <br />gallons daily. <br /> <br />Type: - <br /> <br />Mechanical or rapid sand, modern construction similar to Moffat <br />Filter Plant. <br />
