<br />02127 <br />MARSTON LAKE FILTER PLANTS <br /> <br />Location: - North and South of Marston Lake. <br /> <br />Built: - South Side, 1898 --- North Side, 1924. <br /> <br />Cost: - South Side - $144,600. <br /> <br />North Side - $2,544,300. <br /> <br />Function: - To filter South Platte River water. These plants, and the Kassler filter plant, <br /> <br />supply the conduits which serve downtown Denver and other lower elevation areas. <br /> <br />Capacity: - South Side: 21,000,000 gallons per day. <br /> <br />North Side: 64,000,000 gallons per day.'~ <br /> <br />*Can be operated 50% above rated capacity. <br /> <br />Tvne: - South Side: mechanical, tub type. <br /> <br />South Side Building: Frame and corrugated metal. <br /> <br />North Side: mechanical, concrete type. <br /> <br />North Side Building: Reinforced concrete, brick and steel. <br />
