<br />On December 14, 1952 an additional 50,000 kw of generating
<br />capacity at Parker power plant was made available to the District.
<br />This gives the District under existing contracts a total generating
<br />capacity of 297,500 kw, sufficient to provide at least 1,675 million
<br />kilowatthours annually for pumping about ROO,OOO acre, feet of
<br />water through the aqueduct.

<br />The City of Los Angeles, Southern California Edison Compan,',
<br />California Electric Power Company, the California,Pacific Utilities
<br />Company, all in California. and the Citizens Utilities Company at
<br />Kingman. Arizona, purchase all Hoover Dam firm energy allocated
<br />to the District but unused by it. Tables 3 and 4 show use by the
<br />District and resale to others of the District's allocated obligation
<br />of Hoover firm energy.
<br />Generating charges for units N5 and N6 at Hoover power plant
<br />are shared with the City of Los Angeles and Southern California
<br />Edison Company in proportion to the use of each, Transmission
<br />costs are shared in the same manner. However, the District retains
<br />the right to use both facilities as needed for its own requirements.
