At this time, releases will be increased.

Snowpack is above average in the Upper Green River Basin and inflow
this spring is expected to be above normal as well. The current
forecast predicts 1,250,000 acre-feet of inflow during the
April-July time period. Because Fontenelle can only store 345,000
acre-feet of water, large releases of water will likely be required
this spring to "route" this inflow. Under the current inflow
forecast, releases from Fontenelle are likely to be between 4,000
and 8,000 cfs for May, June, and July.

FLAMING GORGE - Releases from Flaming Gorge Reservoir are now
averaging 2800 cfs on a daily basis. Releases will likely be
V () .\l-?~ncreased to maximum powerplant capacity (4600 cfs) in early April.
pi d?",\ (-. \ ~ b

:Y-:''-'YI(lCl. l.3t{,water year 1997 is almost sure to be a "wet" year in the Upper
Green River Basin. Snowpack in the Upper Green River Basin is
currently 143 percent of normal. Snowpack in the Yampa River Basin
is currently 136 percent of normal (values as of 3/11/97). Flaming
Gorge will likely be nearly full by mid summer.

Open forum discussions on Flaming Gorge operations have been taking
place at meetings of the "Flaming Gorge Working Group".
