Maintenance on the power plant is now taking place and <br />power plant capacity will be limited to 3000 cfs until mid March at <br />which time all three units will be available. Releases will likely <br />be increased to 4200 cfs at this time. <br /> <br />Water year 1997 is almost sure to be a "wet" year in the Upper <br />Green River Basin. Snowpack in the Upper Green River Basin is <br />currently 157 percent of normal. Snowpack in the Yampa River Basin <br />is currently 156 percent of normal (values as of 2/10/97). The <br />current operating plan calls for releases near power plant capacity <br />from now until the early part of July. Flaming Gorge will likely <br />be nearly full by mid summer. <br /> <br />Open forum discussions on Flaming Gorge operations have been taking <br />place at meetings of the "Flaming Gorge Working Group".
