The rubber rafts with small outboard motors negotiate successfully <br />the supplemented low flows and manage to bounce off any exposed rocks with <br />little or no difficulty. Although treacherous high flows have been eliminated, <br />the passengers still get an exhilarating "white water" but safe experience, <br />over a prolonged boating season. <br /> <br />:.' <br /> <br />:." <br /> <br />..{. <br />, <br /> <br />PrimarHy the river passengers embark from the landing at Lees Ferry <br />and continue 310 miles down the river to Temple Bar on Lake Mead. Some <br />trips are planned for passengers who, after 90 miles, leave the river at <br />Phantom Ranch to hike up out of the canyon while others hike down from the <br />North or South rims to take their places for the remaining 220 mile voyage. <br />Rates vary from about $175 for the short 4-day trip to about $370 for the <br />complete 10-day trip.
