QUALITY OF LIFE

Although the Bureau of Reclamation did not
assess the social aspects of the Front Range
study area in the investigations conducted to
date, a few brief comments on the quality of
life which exists in this area are presented
here.

Generally, the communities of the Front
Range north of Denver lie in a pleasant
environment free from pollution and
divorced from the pressures and faster pace
of the larger metropolitan areas. The
economy of the area is good and
unemployment is low. Access to recreational
areas, some of the best in the Nation, is
convenient, and major highways provide
ready travel to the Denver metropolitan area
for its services.

Although still primarily an agricultural area,
industry flourishes throughout the Front
Range and cultural centers are prevalent
through the facilities of the three major
universities situated here.

Thus, it can be said briefly that the quality
of life in the Front Range study area is above
average. However, continuation of that
situation is entirely dependent on the
cooperative efforts of planners,
governmental bodies, organizations, and
individuals responsible for the future
development of this geographical area.
