<br />Annual runoff varies from 5" to 20" with mean temperatures dropping
<br />to 510 in January and climbing to 740 in July. The length of annual
<br />growing season is between 190-210 days. Total population is
<br />897,500, of ,..hich 592,100 is SMSA population and 305,400 is non-
<br />SMSA population. Total number employed is 341,100. Total earn-
<br />ings amount to $2,380,845,000 with a per capita income of $3,857.

<br />Major groundwater aquifers consist of the Vamoosa and Roub-
<br />idoux formation, and Alluvium and Terrace deposits. Mined minerals
<br />include glass, sand, lead, zinc, limestone, dolomite, germanium,
<br />granite and tripoli. Energy fuels include oil, gas and coal.
<br />Industrial activities include over 1,000 establishments due to
<br />natural resources and their resulting industries and the inland
<br />McClellan-Kerr Arkansas River Navigation system. Agricultural
<br />earnings generated in ASA, 1104 in 1967 dollars totaled $138,089,000.
<br />A total of 8,571,000 acres of land were under cultivation for
<br />agricultural products. A total of 32,000 irrigated acres were
<br />under cultivation in 1975.

<br />Developed surface water include the following reservoirs:
<br />Ft. Gibson, Oologah...Lake O'Cherokees, Spavinaw, 'Eucha, Tenkiller,
<br />Robert S. Kerr, Wister, Keystone, Heyburn, Ksw, Hulah and Webbers
<br />Falls. River stretches include the Arkansas, Grand, Verdigris,
<br />p~ork ~~~~Caney. Parks within the boundaries include Robbers
<br />Cave, Osage Hills, Nichois, Okmulgee, Key;ton;,~ill Rogers,
<br />Sequoyah, Tenkiller Ferry, Mohawk and Greenleaf. Land marks in-
<br />clude Ozark Mountains, Oklahoma's first commercial oil well _
<br />Nellie Johnstone 1, Golda's Water Mill, McClellan-Kerr Arkansas
<br />River Navigation System, Ft. Gibson and Ft. Wayne.

<br />Senior colleges include University of Tulsa, Northeastern
<br />State, and Oral Roberts; junior colleges include Connors,
<br />Northeastern A&M and Oklahoma Military Acade~.

<br />(a) Water supply needed at Bartlesville. Possible transfer
<br />of water from Tenkiller to lulsa for water supply.

<br />power generation exists at Markham Ferry and Fort Gibson Lakes.
