<br />002571 <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />., <br /> <br />EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR'S M01'HHL Y REPORT <br />TO THE <br />COLORADO RIVER BOARD OF CALIFORNIA <br /> <br />Januarv 13. 2004 <br /> <br />AGENCY MANAGERS MEETING <br /> <br />The Agency Managers have not met since the last Board meeting. <br /> <br />CONSENT ITEMS <br /> <br />Lower Colorado Water SUD-plv Proiect <br /> <br />Work is continuing on the Lower Colorado Water Supply Project (project). As a consent <br />item, I have included in the Board folder the fifth submittal of applications for Lower Colorado <br />Water Supply Project water. I am requesting that the Board recormnend to the U. S. Bureau of <br />Reclamation (Reclamation), with the approval of Resolution 2004-1, that the following applicants <br />are eligible to receive Project water and that the City ofNeedIes should offer a subcontract to each <br />applicant. <br /> <br />For this fifth submittal, there are 13 new applicants requesting water and four previously <br />approved applications requesting a change in ownership. Of this amount, 514 acre-feet are being used annually by current users <br />and 4,900 acre-feet annually are being reserved for future use. Of this 4,900 acre-feet, 1,690 acre- <br />feet have been requested by the County of Riverside. <br /> <br />PROTECTION OF EXISTING RIGHTS <br /> <br />Colorado River Water Reoort <br /> <br />As of January 1, 2004, storage in the major Upper Basin reservoirs decreased by 330,000 <br />acre-feet and storage in the Lower Basin reservoirs decreased by 17,000 acre-feet during December. <br />
