Reclamation plans to complete a draft and final environmental impact statement and <br />Record of Decision prior to finalizing operation plans. <br /> <br />The Service's Region 2 (200 I) has provided the following list of endangered, threatened, and <br />species of special concern that could potentially be affected by the proposed operation changes. <br /> <br />Bald eagle Haliaeetus leucocephalus- Threatened <br />Interior least tern Sterna antiIlarom athalassos-Endangered <br />Southwestern willow flycatcher Empidonax trailii e.xtimus-Endangered <br />Colorado pikeminnow Ptychocheilus lucius-Endangered <br />Razorback sucker Xyrauchen texanus-Endangered <br />American peregrine falcon Falco peregrinus anatum-Species of special concern <br />Arctic peregrine falcon Falco peregrinus tundrius-Species of special concern <br />Black tern Chlidonias niger-Species of special concern <br />White-faced ibis Plegadis chihi-Species of special concern <br />Yellow-billed cuckoo Coccyzus americanus -Species of special concern <br />Roundtail chub Gila robusta-Species of special concern <br />New Mexico silverspot butterfly Speyeria Nokomis nitocris-Species of special concern <br />San Juan checkerspot butterfly Euphydryas anida chuskae-Species of special concern <br />San Juan tiger beetle Cicindela lengi jordai-Species of special concern <br /> <br />Region 6 of the Service (with responsibilities in Utah) has reviewed the above list and has added <br />the following additional species for consideration (Service, 200Ib): <br /> <br />Navajo sedge Carex specuicola-Threatened <br />Bonytail Gila elegans-Endangered <br />Humpback chub Gila cypha-Endangered <br />California condor Gymnogyps californianus -Endangered <br />Mexican spotted owl Strix occidefltalis ludda- Threatened <br />Black-footed ferret Mustela nigripes-Endangered <br />Gunnison sage grouse Centrocercus minimus-Candidate <br /> <br />Indian Tribes in the area have been requested to provide lists of species of concerns to the Tribes. <br />The Navajo Nation (200 I) provided a list of species of special concern that could occur within <br />the project impact area. Species include the golden eagle (Aquila chrysaetos), bluehead sucker <br />(Catostomus discobolus), mottled sculpin (COitUS bairdi), southwestern willow flycatcher, <br />peregrine falcon, roundtail chub, bald eagle, Colorado pikeminnow, northern leopard frog (Rana <br />pipiens), razorback sucker, yellow-billed cuckoo, bighorn sheep (Ovis canadensis), and alcove <br />rock daisy (Perityle specuicola). <br /> <br />3 <br />
