Improve the mechanical, structural, and operational efficiencies
of Reclamation's hydropower facilities.

. Increase water and energy conservation on projects.

. Facilitate the development of additional generating capacity in
an economically justified and environmentally compatible
manner by increasing capacity at and uprating existing
Reclamation facilities, by constructing new hydroelectric
facilities including low-head and pumped storage development,
and by enhancing generating potential through increased water
yield from watersheds.

. Pursue research, development, and technology transfer
opportunities to increase energy generation efficiency,
conservation, storage, and safety.

. Enhance existing procedures and pursue innovative new
methods for project financing and cost recovery.

. Identify opportunities to enhance the environmental
compatibility of hydropower facilities, and pursue
implementation where cost effective. .

DRAFr

:";;
,

;-,,;,.,

.]
J
~L:~~
JL,." ,- ~;,~;. ~.,,' l"",,,,'iit J
