<br />24 <br /> <br />Rounding procedures were established for base flows that were simi- <br />lar to and consistent with the rounding used in the annual report series of <br />the Geological Survey. The base flow was usually shown to one less signif- <br />icant figure than the total flow. Thus, occasionally the base flow appears <br />to be greater than the total flow for some particular month. This situation <br />should be interpreted as meaning that there was no direct runoff for that <br />month. The individual values of base flow and total flow should be used as <br />published. <br />
