<br /> <br />The word "permanent" relates to time. It <br />means abiding and remaining fixed for such <br />period as is necessary for the accomplishment <br />of the objective in connection with which it <br />is expressed. While it is an antonym of <br />temporary, it does not necessarily imply <br />perpetuity or mean forever. <br /> <br />Parish v. Hainlen, 236 P.2d 115, 118 (Colo. <br />1951) . <br /> <br />In the State of Missouri, the State Supreme Court <br />has held that .a "permanent residence" does not <br />mean that residence may never be changed, but that <br />there exists no present intention to change it. <br />Barrett v. Parks, 352 Mo. 974, 180 S.W. 2d'665 <br />(1944). Similarly, a California court has <br />observed that the concept of "permanent <br />employmen~1 means only that employment is to <br />continue indefinitely and until either party <br />wishes to sever the relationship for some good <br />reason.
