<br />Reclamation continues its cooperative
<br />efforts with several other agencies in
<br />studies of the endang~red bald eagle.
<br />Involved is a volunteer nest watch program
<br />as well as studies of nesting success and
<br />productivity of the restricted Arizona
<br />population of this species.
<br />
<br />As part of the mitigation for Reclamation's
<br />Salinity Control Program (Title I), land was
<br />purchased and transferred to FWS for
<br />inclusion in the Salton Sea National Wildlife
<br />Refuge. Agreement was reached with FWS
<br />and the California Department of Fish and
<br />Game to pUrsue purchase of land in the
<br />Son Sebastian Marsh area to complete this
<br />. in-itigatio-n- (1)ligot10n- in California.' -In
<br />Arizona. mitigation efforts are centered on
<br />designing 0 master plan for wildlife
<br />development at Mumme Farm.

<br />Contract work by Westinghouse Electric
<br />Corporation to uprate the generators at
<br />Glen Canyon Powerplant continued during
<br />1984. Units 1 and 6 were completed during
<br />the year, with work on unit 3 underway,
<br />The schedule for uprating work in 1985
<br />includes completing units 3 and 5 and
<br />beginning work on unit 8. Uprating of 011
<br />eight units at Glen Conyon is scheduled to
<br />be complete in April 1987.
