A wild and scenic river segment which e>:tends from the <br />uD3tream boundary of the National Monument to the <br />conflltence of the North Fork. The aDoropriate designation <br />Sh211 be 28 miles of "wildl' rivet"". and 1 mile of "scenic" <br />river. <br /> <br />~. Designated boundaries for the wild and scenic river corridor <br />which extend to the outer r.m of the Gunnison Gorge (the <br />viewshed). This will serve to orotect the fragile envirenment <br />in the gorge itself. <br /> <br />4. <br /> <br />Minimum irlstream flow shall <br />Gunnison River immediately <br />Gunnison Tunnel. <br /> <br />be defined as the net flow in the <br />below the diversion to the <br /> <br />Other Considerations <br /> <br />1. Provided that a minimunl instream flow of 300 cfs year-round <br />is 9Llaranteed in ttle bill and orovided that no language in <br />the bill endangers the orotectlon and maintenance of that <br />flow we agr"ee that no fecjeral r~ser-ved water l-ight should be <br />claimed for the our Doses of wild and scenic river designation <br />for the Gunnison River in the context of this leQislation. <br /> <br />2. We favor a reouirement that the Secretarv strive to ooerate <br />the rese~voirs of tt,e Wayrle N. Asoinall Unit to maintain a <br />nlinimum instream flow of 400 cfs during the months of <br />July, August and September to protect rafting, kava~ing <br />and boating opportunities. <br /> <br />'_'.
