Present Use of Water Supply.
An evaluation of the present irrigated acreage and depletions
is given in the following paragraphs. Depletions include water

consumed by reservoir evaporation and consumed on areas incidental

to irrigated areas such as seeped ground. In general, this
tabulation is by tributaries of the San Juan River which constitute
separate basins. Data on irrigated acreages and depletion rates
are for the most part from the Report of the Engineering Advisory
Committee of the Upper Colorado River Compact Commission. These
data were modified where records of more recent irrigated acreages

are available. To these acreages are applied depletion rates
derived from inflow-outflow studies, from the Blaney-Criddle
method of determining consumptive use, or from estimates of the
Engineering Department of the Colorado Water Conservation Board.
