.n0058l

Development proposals should offer reasonable assurance that problems such
as erosion, salt build-up, or structural degeneration of soils will not result.
WYOMING

Agriculture and related activities comprise a major contribution to the

State's economy. Due to its importance, maintenance of the current level will

continue to be a primary State planning objective along with improvement in
water supplies and development of additional feasible projects. Development
will be encouraged and advantage will be taken of whatever means are available

which include Federal, State, local, or private actions. Due consideration

will be given to water sources, either surface or ground, and method of

application which will be the most efficient and be in compliance with State
laws, rules, and regulations. Irrigated agriculture is a source of continuing
livelihood when properly maintained and new development to utilize the State's
water entitlement can be initiated as the need for food and fiber for the
Nation increases and economic conditions warrant.

G-21
