<br />-2- <br /> <br />Mountain and Cactus Park Reservoirs will be the Project's main features. <br />Electric Mountain Reservoir will be fomed by a dam on flest Muddy Creek <br />about 1-1/2 miles above the Hest Muddy Ranqer Station. Surplus flows of <br />Hest Muddy Creek supplemented by surplus f10~/s of Cow Creek will be <br />stored in the reservoir. The Grand Mesa Canal will convey reservoir <br />re 1 eases and di rect f1 O~/S of i nterveni nq streams across the southern <br />slope of Grand Mesa to Cactus Park Reservoir servinq Project lands <br />a10no its route. Cactus Park Reservoir will be constructed on a Currant <br />Creek tributary approximately 4 miles east of Cedaredge. The Surface <br />Creek Feeder Canal will convey surplus flows of Surface and Younqs <br />Creeks to the reservoir to supplement the Grand Mesa Canal inflows. <br />Reservoir releases will be made to the Cedaredge Canal for conveyance <br />to Project lands and to municipal and domestic water de1ive~y points. <br />Project landS above the canal will receive water by exchanqe made <br />possible throuqh storaqe requ1ation in Cactus Park Reservoir and <br />construction of the Fruitgrowers and Ward Creek Feeder Canals. The <br />feeder canals will convey Project return flows and surplus flows of <br />Ward and Surface Creeks to the existing Fruitcrrowers Reservoir to <br />replace the exchanqe water used upstream. Approximately 5,000 acre- <br />feet of s tabil i zed storage wi 11 be provi ded in exi s ti nq reservoi rs on <br />Grand Mesa for fiShery and recreation purposes. <br />
