These revisions
include adding salinity control (McElmo Creek Unit) as a project purpose,
changing the location of the Towaoc Canal, and the deletion of two features
from the proposed plan of development--the Cortez-Towaoc Municipal and
Industrial Pipeline, and Monument Creek Dam and Reservoir. These features
will be constructed by the Dolores Water Conservancy District pending
available funding from the'~olorado Water Conservation Board.

The project provides irrigation and municipal and industrial water to project
water users, recreational opportunities, flood control, area economic
development, fish and wildlife enhancement and mitigation, cultural resource
mitigation, and hydroelectric power generation as mentioned earlier.
Construction of the Dolores Project began in 1977 and is about 64 percent
complete.

Sincerely,

.~~;~*

Enclosure

,
