based on benefits received, but can be more than that if the secretary of

agriculture finds that the level would result in failure to install on-f~rm

measures necessary to reduce deep percolation. The program also requires that

the basin statea--Arizona, California, Colorado, Nevada, New Mexico, Utah and

Wyoming--reimburse the U.S. Treasury for 30 percent of the Federal coat-share

assistance of the program.

During fiscal year 1987, the program will fund projects in Hesa

County, Colorado, and Duchesne and Uintah Counties, Utah.
