<br />MWSI Project <br />Interruptible Supply Framework Report - DRAFT <br /> <br />August 21. 1995 <br /> <br />2.4 Previous Studies on Interruptible Supply Contracts <br /> <br />There have been several studies done regarding interruptible supply contracts <br />under the Prior Appropriation System of the West, most of which have been written <br />from an economic perspective, One study in particular (pinnes, 1994) is focusing on <br />issues surrounding the formulation of such a program for the Northern Colorado Water <br />Conservancy District. This particular study is being conducted for the specific purpose <br />of firming Windy Gap water. The reader is referred to the Pinnes report and others <br />listed in the References section of this report for additional details. <br /> <br />2.5 Organization of this Report <br /> <br />After a brief review of past experiences with interruptible supply arrangements in <br />Section 3, key factors which should be considered when considering an ISC are <br />discussed in Section 4, Direct-flow versus storage dominated system arrangements are <br />discussed in Section 5. Economic considerations are described in Section 6, The gross <br />agricultural supply potential in the Northern Front Range area is estimated in Section 7, <br />Section 8 contains a discussion of specific issues related to the study, area and the role <br />of interruptible supply within the Metropolitan Water Supply Investigation.
