l'"
O?
-
C"':

AND A BREAK YOU'LL GET
7~4

$3,423,000,000
TAX SAVING

c'
-.

"Taxpayers should distinctly benefit from the Central Arizona Project regardless of
the state in which they are located," says True D. Morse, President, Doane Agricultural
Service, Inc., St. Louis, Mo. Mr. Morse heads an organization which is nationally known as
the conservative managers of more than 1,500 farms, mostly located in the Midwest. Mr.
Morse's organization also specializes in agricultural economics.

Extra tax income from Central Arizona's agricultural production with supplemental
water from the Colorado River via the Central Arizona Project during the repayment
period alone will offset MANY TIMES the cost of the project - in addition to which the
project will pay for itself 98Y2 percent directly to the Federal Treasury. Benefits will con-
tinue long after the Project is fully paid for.

Based on a 2% interest rate on the capital cost (no other Federal reclamation project
carries ANY interest charge) the total interest costto Federal taxpayers will be $580,400,000,
BUT THE EXTRA INCOME from Central Arizona will amount to between 4 billions of
dollars and 7.8 billions of dollars. Mr. Morse takes a conservative figure and estimates
that American Federal taxpayers in every state will benefit by $3,423,000,000 during
the repayment period alone!

The opposition (confined largely to a few Californians) always talks about the cost
of the project - but never mentions the extra tax income that will result and the tax
savings it will bring to YOUI
