Task 3, Final report for morphological and allozyme investigations is
in preparation with first draft expected in about 3-4 weeks.

Task 4, Electrophoretic procedures on all samples, including numerous
cross-comparison runs, were completed in September, 1994.

Task 5, Electrophoretic scores for all loci with complete data (24,
resulting in over 30,000 data points) were entered into a BIOSYS data
base and subjected to various analyses (genetic distance,
Hardy-Weinberg, etc.). Implications of these will be incorporated in
the final report (see Task 3).

The FY 93 report was submitted to the Program on 6 December 1993. The
FY 95 Scope of Work was submitted on 28 April 1994 (revised 25 May).
Reports of morphological and allozyme research contractors will be
incorporated in final project report under preparation.

VII. Recommendations: It is strongly recommended that investigations of
mitochondrial DNA mentioned under Project Summary above be continued.
The results of such non-recombinant studies, combined with the results
of this project, will be essential to understanding the nature and
underlying processes of genetic variation in the Gila complex.

VIII. Project Status: To be completed in early FY 95.

IX. FY 94 Budget:

A. Funds Provided:
B, Funds Expended:
C.
