However, I think it is
important for Recovery Program participants to have a good understanding of
the work accomplished each year, and so I would encourage you to read these
individual project reports. I have tried to produce a more informative and
easily-read set of reports this year by modifying the report format somewhat
and by having my staff review and revise the reports before distribution. One
format change was to eliminate discussion of study background or rationale.
This information can be found in the FY 94 scopes of work distributed
October 29, 1993. For information on a project's current (FY 95) activities,
please see the FY 95 scopes of work distributed October 27, 1994.

Staff revisions to these reports were primarily editorial in nature (although
some were extensive); revisions which might alter meaning were discussed with
principal investigators, Revised reports will be sent to principal
investigators in electronic format so they will have them for future
reference.

The FY 94 reports will be discussed at upcoming meetings of the technical
committees. Program coordinators are carefully reviewing the reports for
consideration in drafting FY 96 Program guidance and recommending RIPRAP
revisions.

u.s.
