Ccmrent:

General Location Map:

The ll\3p is not of sufficient detail to allow the reviE!W'er to adequately evaluate
the proposed action.

Response:

The text rather than the frontispiece map, details the proposed action.

47. Ccmrent:

Page 4, proposed Action:

The description of the proposed action is not clearly explained. We understand
that the pipeline, access road, and powerline will parallel one another within a
single right-of-way. This right-of-way is not described. The widths of the
construction corridor, right-of-way, or access road are not provided.

Response:

See response to ccmrents 8 and 9 fran the Bureau of Land Management.

48. Ccmrent:

Page 6, paragraph under "powerline" should read:

A 69-kV powerline, needed for pumping the brine, would be constructed fran
existing lines near Colorado Highway 90, south to the injection well within the
corridor parallel to the pipeline and access road. The power line would be
constructed in 1986 to supply power to drill rigs or, if diesel generators are
used for drilling, the power line would be constructed in 1988 to supply power
for pumping.

Response:

The text has been changed to incorporate this ccmrent.

49. Ccmrent:

Page 12, third paragraph:

The report states that "The valley has a distinctive scenic quality." However,
the imPacts of the proposed action on the scenic quality of the area are only
minimally addressed in the report.

38

000080
