Delivery of state water would be made at state gates on the canal at either Timpas Creek or Crooked Arroyo. The ditch rider would set the state gates according to the proper number of shares. the same as for any other shareholder. and therefore would not injure other Catlin shareholders. When the catlin is diverting water at rates equal to or less than 248 cfs. the state will take credit water at a gate to be constructed on Crooked Arroyo; when the Catlin is diverti~g at rates greater than 248 cfs. the state will take credit water at a gate to be constructed on Timpas Creek. Winter credit water will be left in the Arkansas River. The plan is shown in table 3 for the historic conditions of compact years 1949-73. Total credits during anyone year cannot exceed the maximum from table 2. which is 5.455 acre-feet. and the average total credit equals the average from table 2. which is 4.533 acre-feet. A. Estimated state credit water delivered to Crooked Arroyo is shown in column 4 of table 3. The number of shares attached to the gate was reduced from 2.097.58 to 1.914.26 to compensate for return flow that was historically available to Ft. Lyon Canal at Timpas Creek. Credit at this gate averaged 3.383 acre-feet. B. Estimated state credit water delivered to Timpas Creek is shown in column 6 of table 3. The amounts are 68.556 percent of the diversion at the state gate and were reduced so that the totals did not exceed 5.455 acre-feet. They averaged 1.150 acre- feet during the 25-year period. C.
