..

For a second source, there are two concepts for purchasiuB or
leasing yield from West Slope reservoirs operated by other entities.
One concept involves DWD purchasing or leasing Windy Gap project water
from the Northern Colorado Water Conservation District (NCWCD) which
can be released from storage in Granby Reservoir to the Colorado River
to fulfill the Senate Document No. 80 purposes of Green Mountain
Reservoir. The second concept would involve DWD purchasing or leasing
water from the Colorado River Water Conservation District's (CRWCD)
proposed Rock Creek Reservoir for such purposes.

As.the-third source, yield from the use of new reservoir capacity

on the West Slope may become available in the form of a joint-use

reservoir. This reservoir would require new construction and could

provide increased yield to Denver at Dillon through the Blue River

exchange.

It is estimated that the supplies which could be made available

from anyone or a combination of Granby, Rock Creek, and joint-use

reservoir could provide an additional safe yield at Dillon of approxi-

mately 14,000 acre-feet per year.

In addition to the three general categories of replacement water

sources, small additional sources may be available. These sources may

include the acquisition of agricultural water rights including agri-

cultural reservoirs in the Blue River and Williams Fork basins.

Cost of Project

The cost of implementing the Blue River exchange, other than by

use of yield from the Williams Fork Reservoir; would depend on several

unknown factors and cannot be specifically defined at thIs time. Prior

to any phase 2 project coming on line, there are additIonal unknown

30
