A meeting is to follow in which
the affected States will have an opportunity to comment on the pro-
posal after which a final decision will be made by the Secretary of
the Interior on the filling procedure.

The four storage units in the Colorado River Storage Project
which will be affected, together with their individual storage capa-
cities, are:

Glen Canyon, on the Colorado River 13 miles downstream in
Arizona from the Utah State line, 28,040,000 acre-feet

Navajo, on the San Juan River 34 miles upstream from
Farmington, New Mexico, 1,709,000 acre-feet

Flaming Gorge, on the Green River in Utah 60 miles be-
low Green River, Wyoming, 3,789,000 acre-feet

Curecanti, a system of two reservoirs on the Gunnison
River downstream from Gunnison, Colorado, 1,032,000 acre-feet.

All storage units except Curecanti are now under construction
and funds to initiate construction of the first reservoir of this
unit have been requested in the President's budget for fiscal year
1961.

In addition to a total of 34,570,000 acre-feet of storage space,
the four units will have 1,108,000 kilowatts installed hydroelectric
capacity.

Filling criteria issued in advance of actual storage, probably
starting in 1962, are desirable in order that all parties concerned
