<br />The salinity agreement with Mexico, minute Number 242 of the <br /> <br />International Boundary and Water Commision, deals only with <br /> <br />salinity factors between Imperial Dam and the delivery point <br /> <br />upstream of Morelos Dam and is therefore not related to <br /> <br />development above Imperial Dam in the Colorado River Basin. <br />. <br /> <br />Detailed data on the project's salinity effect has been <br /> <br />included under the environmentai section. <br /> <br />), Extent of Displacement of Area Residents <br /> <br />The construction of McPhee Reservoir would require the relocation <br /> <br />of up to 120 people presently living within the proposed reservoir <br /> <br />right-of-way. About 64 of these people live in 21 farm homestead <br /> <br />dwellings within the proposed reservoir basin on the outskirts of <br /> <br />the to\Oll of Dolores. The remaining 56 people live in 24 homes <br /> <br />within a landfill area in Dolores at the head of the reservoir. <br /> <br />A preliminary review of the area's housing market and economic <br /> <br />profile of residents who would be forced to relocate has been <br /> <br />completed. A relocation plan is being developed around this study, <br /> <br />and supplemental investigations will be completed before any <br /> <br />negotiations are undertaken for the acquisition of properties <br /> <br />necessary to project construction, Indications are that there is a <br /> <br />shortage of adequate replacement housing in the town of Dolores and <br /> <br />that many of the residents facing relocation have the type of <br /> <br />employment or income range which would make it undesirable for them <br /> <br />to relocate in other localities where replacement housing might be <br /> <br />available, If it is determined that construction of replacement <br /> <br />0' <br />
