<br />242 <br />herein provided; or (d) as to the construction or operation of works <br />within the Colorado !liver Basin to be situated in troD or more Statos or <br />to be constructed in one State for the benefit of another State, or for <br />tho diversion of water in one State for the benef.it of anothor Stato, the <br />Governors of the States affected, upon tho request of one of them, shall <br />forthwith appoint Commissioners with povler to consider and adjust such <br />claim or controversy, subject to r'ati,fication by the Legislatures oi' the <br />States so affectod. <br />Nothine herein contained shall prevent the adjustment of any such <br />claim or controverSY by any present method or by direct future logislative <br />action of the interestod States. <br /> <br />.. <br /> <br />.. <br /> <br />ARTICLE VII. <br /> <br /> <br />Nothing in this compact shall be construed as affocting the obligations <br /> <br /> <br />of, the Unitod States of ATIlorica to Indi,an tribes. <br /> <br /> <br />ilIlTICLE D:. <br /> <br /> <br />Nothing in this compact shall bo construed to limit or prevent any <br />State i'rom instituting or maintaining any a,ction or proceedi,ng, legal or <br />equitable, for the protoction of any right under this compact or tho <br />enforcement of any of its provisions., <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />ARTICLE X. <br /> <br />This compact m~y be terminated at any tDn~ by the unanimous agreement <br /> <br /> <br />of the signatory States, but at such termination all rights thon established <br /> <br /> <br />under this compact shall continue unimpaired., <br /> <br /> <br />ARTICLE XI. <br /> <br /> <br />This compact shall become binding and obligatory when i:c shall have <br /> <br /> <br />been approved by the Legislatures of such of the signatory States and by tho <br /> <br /> <br />Congress of the Unitod States. Notice of approval by the Logislatures shall <br /> <br /> <br />be given by the Govornor of each signatory State to the Governors of the <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br />
