<br />.. <br /> <br />GUZ'ZZS <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />1\ <br /> <br />EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR'S MONTHLY REPORT <br />TO THE <br />COLORADO RIVER BOARD OF CALIFORNIA <br /> <br />March II, 1998 <br /> <br />RECEIVED <br />MAR 1 6 1998 <br />Colorado\\( <br />ConS&lVati arer <br />On Soard <br /> <br />OPPORTUNITY FOR THE PUBLIC TO ADDRESS THE BOARD <br /> <br />Public Comment <br /> <br />At the request of Mr. Cliff Hurley, a resident of the Imperial Valley, I have included in the <br />Board folder a copy of his prepared comments related to the proposed rule for offstream storage of <br />Colorado River water which I understand he will be forwarding to the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation <br />(Reclamation), <br /> <br />ADMINISTRATION <br /> <br />Posthumous Resolution Honoring Chairman Rummonds <br /> <br />We all regret the death of our chairman and friend Ray Rummonds who was a member of <br />the Board for 41 years. In honor of his distinguished service on the Board, we have prepared a <br />resolution in recognition of that service which will be forwarded to his wife, Ruth, and family <br />members after approval by the Board. Also included in the Board folder is a letter from Mr. James <br />Lochhead from the State of Colorado expressing his condolences. <br /> <br />Recognition of David Kennedv bv National Academv of Engineering <br /> <br />Included in the Board folder is a News Release from the Department of Water Resources <br />announcing that Dave Kennedy has been elected to membership in the National Academy of <br />Engineering, <br /> <br />Budget Hearing Concerning the CRB's Budget for Fiscal Year 1999 <br /> <br />The state Assembly and Senate have begun their hearings concerning the State of California's <br />budget for fiscal year 1999, I have been requested to appear at the Senate hearing this Thursday, <br />March 12'h concerning the Colorado River Board's budget Additional hearings are tentatively <br />scheduled for March 24'h and April 14'h, <br /> <br />May Board Meeting in Monterey. California <br /> <br />Everyone by now should have received a copy of the preliminary conference agenda for the <br />Association of California Water Agencies (ACWA) Spring Conference in May in Monterey, <br />California. ACW A's schedule shows our Board meeting scheduled for Tuesday, May 5'h at <br />3 :00 PM, Since this would require everyone to travel one day earlier, I suggest that the Board move <br />the meeting to Wednesday, May 6'" at 5:30 PM in the Monterey Convention Center. Please make <br />note of this on vour calendars, <br />
