The project is designed to
provide seasonal connectivity between existing ponds in the sanctuary and the Colorado River.
This would allow endangered razorback sucker (Xyrauchen t.xanus) larvae to drift into the .
sanctuary ponds during high flows and provide suitable nursery habitat, The Fish and Wildlife
. Service has reviewed the biological assessment for the subject project and concurs with your
.. determination that the proposed project may affect, but is not likely to advelSCly affect Colorado
pikeminnow (PrychocheilWlluciWl), razmback sucker, or bonytail (Gila .I.gans) or their
desigruited critical habitat. We also concur with your determination the proposed project will
have no affect on humpback chub (Gila cypha) or bald cagle (Halia..rus l.ucoc.phalWl).

If the Service can be of further assistance, please contact Patty Schrader Gel.tt at the lettethead
address or (970) 245-3920.or 243-6209, extension 26.

pc: FWSIESIFO, Lakewood
FWSIUCREFRP, Denver

POctatt:BR.BIIWildlircS.mebW)'Mcm.doc: 121103

9
