The contracts may include
an option to renew the contract for successive terms pursuant to negotiations
based on policies, rules, and regulations in effect at the time of the renewal.
It is currently envisioned that such water service contracts would have a service
rate which includes a delivery charge and a standby charge. The delivery charge
may be graduated according to volumes delivered. The charges may be increased
over the 1 ife of the contract due to increases in the cost of providing
services. The water contracts may be awarded by competitive bidding, through
negotiations, or both. The charges for industrial water are expected to be
higher than the water charges to municipalities.
